New Small Business Podcast Discusses Planning For Retirement
Richmond, Virginia (June 5, 2007) -- Discussion of how to fix the retirement system is still ongoing, but a retirement discussion of another kind should be going on between every small business owner and his or her loved ones. The latest episode of Startup BizCast, a podcast offering small business advice from small business owners, talks about exit strategies and why they’re critical. An exit strategy is a plan for what will happen to your business when you are no longer able to work, or simply want to retire.

the episode, host Steve Mullen interviews Jay Cowan, co-founder of RiverCross
Partners, a company that works with small business owners to develop
exit strategies. Mr. Cowan provides tips on how to create a plan for any
type of business. He also relays a cautionary tale that illustrates what
can happen when you fail to plan. Mr. Cowan says you should start creating
your plans right after you launch your business.
