Facebook Growing Exponentially
This news is a few days old, but I’m just now getting around to blogging about it. Word came out this week that Facebook is growing by an estimated 600,000 or more users PER DAY. Let me repeat that, because it’s hard to get your head around…
Facebook … is growing … by 600,000 or more users … per … day.
(crickets chirping)
There’s no way to really comprehend that type of growth. Think about it … that’s like everyone in a small to medium-sized city signing up each day! In all, Facebook has 140 million users.
Google Pagerank Update
For those who watch these things, it appears Google has done another pagerank update. I noticed today that the front page of this blog went up to PR6, which is quite exciting really. The EndGame PR front page and Startup BizCast front page each stayed at PR5. A client website, FightSMA.org, went from PR4 to PR5. All in all, I’m happy with the update.
Get Better at Online News Release Distribution
I was just poking around the PRWeb website. If you’re a frequent reader here, you’ll know I’m a fan of their online news release distribution service. I knew the folks over there at PRWeb were increasing their offerings, and I just noticed a few of them. One very helpful service they have that I’d never seen before was free webinars to learn how to more effectively use the service. I realize this is a promotional tool for them, but I’m certain they’re also giving out some great information.
Coming up in the next couple of weeks they have several opportunities for webinars for both new users and advanced users. If you’ve been thinking of using online distribution, they have a course for new users. If you use online distribution frequently, they have a webinar for advanced users could teach you something new.
Google Pagerank = Your Brain?
For those of you who have been waiting for that science fiction moment that a computer becomes smarter than a human … well, wait no more! Apparently Google’s Pagerank works just like your brain!
Google Pagerank Updated – Better Late Than Never
If you visit here frequently, you’ll know I’ve been wondering out loud when the Google pagerank update we expected back in July would finally happen. Well, it appears it finally has. I saw a few notes a few days ago about some sites’ PR changing, and then I got busy. I just noticed tonight that the PR for all of my sites has gone up. Here’s a look:
EndGame Public Relations: Increased from PR3 to PR5
Media Relations and SEO PR Blog: Increased from PR0 to PR5
Startup BizCast Podcast: Increased from PR0 to PR5
GeekLogos Graphics: Increased from PR3 to PR4
So, all in all … I’m obviously pretty happy. I still wonder what the heck took so long with the update. Maybe Google will let us know once it’s done. If your site hasn’t updated yet, it may still happen. The updates usually take a couple of weeks before they’re complete.
