Web Video for your Business: An Example
Right up front, I’ll remind you (and inform those who are casual visitors of this blog) that part of my business is production of vidcasts and web videos. I’ve talked to a number of business owners and marketing professionals who have said, “Really, I don’t know what on EARTH my business could record that would be of interest.” I always tell them that there’s *something* there, we just have to find it. Here’s an example from a business that you wouldn’t normally expect to have much to say in the web video space. I give you …. napkin folding from United Linen:
Another Print Pub Goes Fully Digital
The dominoes continue to fall. Back in October we learned that the Christian Science Monitor is ditching its print version and only publish online starting next spring. This week, we heard a similar announcement from another longtime print publication.
The editor of PC Magazine says after the January 2009, the 27-year-old computer magazine will discontinue its print edition. Henceforth, the magazine’s content will be delivered online and in an email version. Here’s an excerpt from the announcement from Editor Lance Ulanoff:
Visiting with Business Incubators
I’m in Staunton, Virginia today to participate in a roundtable discussion during the Virginia Business Incubation Association Fall Conference. The topic of the roundtable is Marketing on a Shoestring Budget. My presentation is taking up a large part of the alotted time, mainly because I’m longwinded and I like talking at length on this topic. My fellow roundtable members voluntarily forfeited their time because they recognized those two things about me :)
I’ll be talking about media relations, social media, SEO PR, and business blogging. I don’t know if the session will be recorded in any way, but if it is I’ll try to get it posted here.
Edited to add: No recording of this session. The only thing I could post is my slide presentation, and without my narration, that slide presentation would be largely useless. With that said, the presentation went very well and I enjoyed meeting everyone! Thanks to the VBIA for the invite!
